What is life satisfaction
Also known as subjective well-being, life satisfaction is how we evaluate our lives as a whole—not just fleeting moments of happiness. It’s shaped by our mindset, relationships, work, financial security, and even physical and mental health.
The Global Problem
When people across OECD countries were asked to rate their life satisfaction on a scale from 0 to 10, the average score was only 6.5. Shockingly, many countries reported an average score of 5 or lower. Despite technological and social progress, dissatisfaction remains alarmingly high.
Is Satisfaction Enough?
Ask yourself: Is being satisfied truly your goal? Or do you want to thrive? We must aim higher—raising our expectations to pursue a purposeful life of growth, fulfillment, and balance.
A Path to Greater Well-Being
Research shows that directly chasing happiness can backfire. Instead, the 7 Pillars Framework focuses on holistic improvements—strengthening your emotional, mental, and physical pillars, while deepening your connections to others, your work, and your environment.
